Caution note Note

Reminder - Important Terms before we go any further -

Query - A set of conditions/filters that we want to apply to the daily race card data.

Group - A set of queries. A group can contain a single query or multiple queries.

When you use the Selection Hunter Feature for the first time you have a 'Default' Group which contains one query called '1'.

Caution note Note

Please note that the 'Default' Group is permanent and that each Group must also contain at least 1 query.

You may have noticed that when we created our query in the 'Creating Our First Query' topic we can only use 'AND' conditions. By this we mean each filter switched on has to be satisfied. There is no OR option. We can get round this by creating multiple queries.

For instance, we may wish to return all horses that finished 1st or 2nd in their last race. This particular filter is a string filter as the values could include 'P' (Pulled Up) or 'U' (Unseated Rider).

In order to achieve this we would have to run 2 queries. The first query would return all horses that finished 1st in their last race and the second query would return all horses that finished 2nd in their last race.

Lets run through this as an example. To start with, we need to create a new group through the 'Group Admin' Drop Down. Lets call this group - '1OR2LTO'

We are going to use the initial query created called '1' to fetch all horses that finished 1st last time out. Set the filters as below. Make sure the group '1OR2LTO' is selected. Then press 'Update Selected Query'

Now let's create a NEW query through the 'Query Admin' Drop Down. I'm going to call this new query '2'.

Once created change the value in the filters from '1' to '2' as per below

Make sure query 2 is selected and then press 'Update Selected Query'.

You can go back and forth between Query 1 and Query 2 and load the settings by pressing the 'Load Selected Query' Button.

You can also run individual queries without loading the settings by pressing the 'Run Selected Query' Button.

We now have 2 queries available in Group '1OR2LTO'. We can run all queries in the group at the same time by pressing the 'Run Selected Group Queries'.

In our example when I press 'Run Selected Group Queries' the Queries return 43 results.
